Perceived Status of Women in India

In this book, the chapters focus on women in high-level professions and certain issues faced by women professionals belonging to different sections of the society. Each author in this book provides a diverse perspective on the position, status, roles, issues, concerns, and barriers faced by women in various aspects of life, profession, and society.

The book covers a wide range of issues concerned with challenges faced by women. The chapters are based on the experience of the authors as well as an analysis of the various available literature on the topic. Each chapter poses the many challenges women face in their profession and how they are perceived and how they themselves perceive their status and the status of women in India. It is hoped that many of the points raised by different writers have high-lighted what all needs to be done to raise the status of women in India
